Fundamentals must be known by Operator during Conventional Period

Fundamentals must be known by Operator during

Conventional Period

(The operator has to prove that he quit informed about these

The maintenance and enhancement of soil life and natural

soil fertility .(no bare land in the farm,).Soil stability and soil

biodiversity preventing and combating soil compaction and soil

erosion, and the nourishing of plants primarily through the soil

Incorporate legume plants in crop rotation and minimize of the

use of non-renewable resources and off-farm inputs.

Use green manure to improve soil texture and fertility

Use compost and natural rocks to increase soil fertility

Reduce using nonrenewable materials

Operator has to use all renewable materials and avoid or

minimize use non-renewable ones .He has also to encourage

increase number of natural enemies and use approved

pesticides in very limited as he can.

Operator has to save water during irrigation, also use irrigation

systems that save sub soil water

Recycling of farm residues

Operator has to recycle plant residues to produce compost

Animal manure also must be used to produce compost. Good

compost improve soil texture and increase water holding capacity

for soil and reduce leaching of minerals and nutrient substances

from soil

Biological and ecological balance

Operator has to keep green area and bushes around the farm

to act as shelter for beneficial macro or microorganisms

Operator will keep away from naturally protected area and

never use it or agriculture

Use of specific pesticides to protect natural enemies

Protect plant health through preventing arrival pathogen or

pest to our farms

Operator will select the most suitable variety to be resist

against local pests and diseases to reduce using pesticides to

reduce negative effects on our environment.

Use proper crop rotation to avoid increase and accumulation of

pathogen and pests

Use biological control (use living organism to control another)

such as using the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis against

larvae or Trichoderma harzianum against pathogen.

Use pesticide must be the last choice. Before taking such

decision the operator shall use mechanical control, use natural

enemies or physical methods (e.g. light traps)

The operator shall protect natural enemies in his farm by

providing suitable places for nests and shelters for natural

enemies and spread of parasites and predator

Use pheromone and cairomone traps as monitor and also as a

mean for pest control

Use light traps and adhesive yellow sheets.

Use animals are already adapted with the local ecosystem

Farm livestock shall be already adapted with weather and other

conditions in the farm. Number of animals per area kind of animals

area of stable all these points must be considered when live stock is

discuss or design to introduce to farm

Secure livestock in farm

Save, secure and guard animal life in farm can be achieved

Proper nutrition regime consists of organic feeder and complex

organic feeder

Continuance veterinary supervision for flock individual

Antibiotic preparation can be used if very necessary and in this

case the period between last dose and selling the product as

organic will be double as in conventional , the control body

must be informed and register in farm dairy

Stables must be good ventilated and ground must fit and

suitable with animal kind

Periodical cleaning for stables with use of approved

disinfectant materials

Selection of animal variety which can adapt with local

This can be achieved through genetically selection for good verities

This will reduce health problems and increase animal resistance

for diseases

Use of organic feeders consists of high nutrient value

This complete nutrition (organic feeders plus approved

additives) will provide animal all its requirements consequently the

out put of animal will be ideal

Applied animal breeding practices which increase natural

The most important practices to achieve this immunity is offering

free moving for animals and grazing area these factors help to

improve immunity system in animal

Forbidden practices in animal production

Use of growth hormones and growth inducers for animal

Use of synthetic amino acids in animal nutrition

Production of animal using artificial induction of multi

chromosome fusion

Safe guard biodiversity in natural aqua cultures

This can be occurred by mentoring numbers and kinds of different

aqua living organism per area unit .water quality, surrounded

ground cleaning and disinfectant practices

Protection of FARM from pesticides contamination

Operator shall protect his farm against drift, (winds carry chemical

residues) this by wind break and green fences and buffer rows

Operator shall surround his farm using fast grow plants (corn

or sunflower) to protect his farm from negative activities of his

Agreement with neighbors to stop spraying borders of his farm

with chemicals and select non windy days for spraying

Build up a fence of cotton or corn stalks surround farm to

reduce risk of drift

Use of organic seeds and planting materials (tubers,

bulbs, sets…..etc.)

Operator shall only use organic seeds or planting materials from the

same farm or other organic farm

In case of non-availability the operator can use conventional seeds

non GMO or chemically treated. Control authority must be informed

Wild collection

Wild products are collected from wild area where human has no

hand in cultivation or any other treatment can be register as wild

collection. Collection must be according to rules to avoid imbalance

of ecosystem in these area

Wild area must be far away from effects of cultivated farms

This isolation area can be decide by control authority

Register part of farm as organic whereas the rest of farm

run as conventional

Operator can register part of farm as organic whereas the rest

used ad conventional, in this case the operator take necessary

practices to protect the organic part from practices carried out

in conventional one such as drifts

No parallel production. In case of perennial crops operator has to

inform control body about harvesting time to be attended by control

body representative

Conversion plan must be put to convert all farm to organic

within five years

Principals of parallel production

Parallel production can be occurred in registered farm or firms

according to the following rules

Conditions to allow parallel production in farms

Only for perennial crops in farms with complete separation in

documents, book s, diaries, registers of in and out puts stores

and labels….etc

Take necessary cautions to separate registered part from

other parts, using green fences or bushes

During harvesting color of package of organic product differ

than conventional one

Inform control body (TAWTHIQ) before harvesting 48 hrs. at

least to send representative to attend harvesting process

exactly weight the yield to issue necessary certificate

Parallel production in firms

Separation between organic ,and non organic by use different

processing lines, different processing halls, or by use differ

days or hours to process organic food or separation by

different color packages

Clear identification for organic product during all stages of

Protect organic product from contamination by processing aids

or cleaning materials or non organic products, during all

processing stages and during storing or transportation

Complete separation in all documents (i.e. in puts , out puts,

processing record, sales exportation..etc.) between organic

and non organic products

Record keeping for organic farms and firms

Operator shall keep a clear documentation system (Farm diary

include all agricultural practices carry out in his farm

fertilization scheme, plant protection record, harvest and yield

sales…etc.), bills and invoices

Operator shall keep record for complains of client , corrective

action to avoid repeating the same mistake, and recall back of

non-conformity products

Operator shall close all packages contain organic product and

add label with information and lot number and name of control

In firms the responsible person shall keep a complete

documentation system. This system include source and

amounts of raw materials processing reports, stores book, raw

materials certificates, list of suppliers list of backing materials

list of cleaning materials, firm chars, bell of lading, shipments

certificates, etc. Firm shall also keep complain register and

corrective actions to avoid repeating the error

Firm shall close all packages or containers contain organic

products the package or containers will sealed in way can’t

replace the contents of package without damage of package

and label. Label on each package contain lot number and

source of lot and control body name

Processing or storing of organic product out of territory of

registered farm or firm.(subcontracting): This can be

completed according to the following conditions

Inform control body (TAWTHIQ) about the process 48 hours

Sign a trilateral contract, farm or firm subcontractor and

TAWTHIQ. This contract allow TAWTHIQ to inspect , take

sample , check document and attend processing steps inspect

packing or cleaning materials in addition to any all relative

process related to organic product

Complete separation between organic and any other grade

during storing or processing either for involved organic raw

materials or the end processed product

Complete separation in documents

Complete inspection on the subcontractor during storing or

processing and take samples if needed

Organic certificate will be issued for stored or processed

materials if everything was according to regulation (EC

834/2007, EC 889/2008 and EC1235/2008)
